Ink illustration of a mottled white and grey calf.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and a brush pen for the darkest areas.
Most walks in the countryside and farm land in Britain awards the sight of at least one field of cows, of a variety of breeds, I couldn’t be sure which breed this one is as all in the field had different coats with a variety of fur colours. I spotted this young calf in a field with many other calves whilst on a dog walk in the Dorset countryside one day. Baby cattle are considered calves until they are around one year old, they appear in the field I photographed this calf in for just a few months each year.
