Description
Ink illustration portrait of a Chapmans zebra.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and an Akashiya Sai ink brush pen for the darkest areas.
Chapman's zebra (Equus quagga chapmani) are a subspecies of the plains zebra, or common zebra, the most widespread zebra species. Their stripes are wider than any of the other zebra species, and occasionally have some brown stripes on their lower half. They are widespread and live in many parts of Africa.
Zebra are one of the worlds best known animals, famous for their distinctive black and white striped coats. The different species display varying stripes and each zebras stripes are unique to that animal.
