I photographed this beautiful horse in a heathland and forest area in Wareham, Dorset, in the south of England, UK, where a number of hardy ponies and other livestock have been introduced to help provide more structure of vegetation and they freely roam large areas. If you’re lucky while out walking you can spot a herd of semi-feral horses, ponies, donkeys and cows as well as various species of wildlife. This horse was stood a little apart from the rest of the herd at this time and I was able to capture the beautiful colours of the grassland surrounding the animal, with the heathland behind.
