Description
Portrait photograph of a tiny young black and white baby lamb in a very green grassy field.
This field on the outskirts of Wimborne in Dorset, England is known for being a great place to see lambs every year, usually you just spot them from the road when driving past but this field is luckily part of a designated footpath that leads down to the river Stour. At this time I entered the field with the intention of hopefully photographing the lambs, knowing they are usually very shy I kept my distance but this group were very inquisitive and several came closer to see what I was doing!
I believe the sheep here is a Suffolk sheep or a Suffolk crossbreed, a common breed of domestic sheep with black faces and legs and white wool. Sheep (Ovis aries) are mammals typically kept as livestock and are a common sight in UK countryside and farmland.
