Ink illustration portrait of a snow leopard head.


Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and an Akashiya Sai ink brush pen for the darkest areas.

Snow leopards (Panthera uncia) are a vulnerable species of big cat native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. Their fur is very thick and is white underneath, blending to a mottled grey, they have black spots on their heads and feet which gradually become larger and form large rosettes on the back and tail. The snow leopard is one of the smaller big cats, with short legs and a stocky body and a very long bushy tail.
