Description
Ink illustration of a black kite in flight.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and an Akashiya Sai ink brush pen for the darkest areas.
The black kite is a medium sized bird of prey found in many parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. They even sometimes appear in the UK during migration. A diurnal raptor, they are usually seen with wings out stretched effortlessly soaring high in the sky gliding through the air in search of prey. Black kites are very similar in appearance to red kites but are slightly smaller and their tails are less forked.
