Colourful animal illustration of a green and black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus).
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I created the texture in this drawing using stippling, or dot work using a fine marker pen and then added some colour using alcohol markers.
Poison dart frogs, or poison arrow frogs are group of small and brightly coloured tropical frogs found in the rainforests of Central and South America. Their vibrant appearance is a sign of how poisonous they are, with the brightest species being the most toxic.
