Ink illustration of a male lesser kudu portrait.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and a brush pen for the darkest areas.
Lesser kudu (Tragelaphus imberbis) are forest antelope found in East Africa, there are two species known as kudu, the lesserr kudu seen here and the greater kudu. Kudu’s fur us either a grey brown or red brown, these animals have narrow bodies with long legs and vertical white stripes going across their bodies. Lesser kudu have very large round ears and two white stripes going across the chest with white marks by the eyes, mature adult males also have long twisted spiral horns and a darker coat.
